The holidays are all about bringing people together and that is no exception when it comes to our little blogging and Instagram community. Even during the holidays I am constantly inspired by the beautifully ladies that I am privileged to call my friends. While we inspire one another, we are also inspired by the beautiful clothes of the holidays. The lace, the leather, and the velvet. The velvet has been my favorite this season and I know that is true for many people. It is because of this that have teamed up with some of my favorite blogger babes to share how we are styling velvet this holiday season. First up, my styling of this velvet kimono.
I have been all over the velvet trend this holiday season. It is so fun and instantly adds a touch of glam to any outfit. It reminds of my childhood, growing up in the 90s, and my first velvet top from The Limited Too. I have purchased a lot of velvet this season. From booties, to tops, to handbags, I have probably gotten every item of clothing in velvet. One of my favorite purchases , though, was this velvet kimono from Forever 21. It is such a fun piece that can easily be layered over so many things. The color is unexpected and gives you a sense of warmth and it was a steal of a deal!
I paired the kimono with this gorgeous embroidered skirt. I really felt like the color of the kimono brought out the colors in the skirt. The skirt was purchased at a cute little boutique in Asheville, NC and it has the most amazing details. The embroidery, the pom-pom trim, it is such a stand out piece that can easily be dressed up or down. Being the pattern lover that I am, I paired it with a striped shirt for a little pattern-mixing. I also added the perfect over-the-knee boots and a fun Kendra Scott necklace.
The great thing about velvet is that there really is a something for everyone. It is such a popular trend that you can wear as little or as much as you like. With literally velvet available in every store, you can find something for any event or outfit that you need.
