Bloggers FALL For: A Look Back

I recently had the privilege to team up with some fabulous blogger babes to share some our favorite fashions for the Fall. It was so much fun! I not only got a lot of great style ideas, but I also made a lot of great new friends. I really love how the world of social media can bring people together. It is crazy to think of a time before we were blessed with this privilege. I would probably have never come into contact with these wonderful ladies! While it can be stressful at times, I love the world of social media and all it has added to my life. But, to get back on topic, here is a look back on the trends we highlighted!

We started off by sharing everyone’s favorite: plaid! Plaid is such a classic statement. You can dress it up or down and I know it will remain in style for years to come. Whether it is a shirt, scarf or even pants, everyone needs a little plaid in their lives!

I love how a braid can add a little something extra to any hairstyle. With just a few twists of your hair, you can take a basic look to a glam one. They can easily be implemented into most hairstyles and they are super easy to do! My favorite way to wear them? With my favorite messy up-do!

Leopard is probably one of my all-time favorite prints to wear. I am constantly looking for ways to implement it into my outfits. I truly believe that leopard is a neutral so why not wear it as much as I can?! These leggings are so fun to wear and they really made a statement with this outfit.

Long Cardi

The long cardi is probably my favorite newer trend. They have been around for a few years now but have really been popping up everywhere this season. I love how they pull an outfit together making it more polished and put-together. Plus, they are like walking around in a comfy bathrobe!

Bold Lips

This trend is something that is pretty new for me. I have always been scared of a darker lip because I felt that it washed me out. After trying a few different reds though, I realized that there really is a red for every skin tone. I love the statement that it makes and how it accents one of my best features: my smile!

Bloggers FALL For Long Cardis

Fall weather is upon us here in Savannah, Georgia so most days you can find me layering in my wardrobe. Lately, one of my favorite ways to layer is with a long cardi. I love how cozy they make me feel. I mean, I literally feel like I am wearing a more polished bathrobe with my outfit. It doesn’t get more comfortable than that!

This week in our bloggers link-up we are all styling our favorite long cardis. While I own quite a few, this is one of my favorites because I love the rich cranberry color. It just screams fall and really adds a pop of color to my outfits. The best thing about this cardi is the price tag! I got it a Wal-Mart of all places for less than $18! It is a great quality and very well made, especially considering the price tag. It is definitely worth checking out next time you are there for a grocery run!

I paired my cardi with an adorable plaid shirt dress that I also found at Wal-Mart. The Faded Glory line has been on point this season and I have found so many great things to add into my fall wardrobe without breaking the bank. They are very well made and look a lot more expensive than what I am paying. Everything run pretty true to size so I will link a few things below so you can check them out and order for yourself!

For my accessories, I went with a few current staples: a floppy hat, a choker, booties and leopard print. I strongly encourage you to add at least one, if not all, of these accessories to your wardrobe for this fall and winter. They truly are classic pieces that do a great job of adding a little something extra to your outfits. While you are at Wal-Mart checking out the Faded Glory clothing line, be sure to head over to the accessories and stock up! They have chokers for less than $4 and floppy hats for less than $12! This Momma loves a good deal so those prices are right within my budget!

Floral Frenzy

There is something about a good floral dress that just makes you feel girlie. Put those florals in perfect shades of teal and olive and you have the perfect dress to add to your fall wardrobe. That was exactly how I felt when I first spotted this dress.

I had seen this floral drop-waist dress on a few of my Instagram friends so when I walked into my local Target and saw it hanging on the rack, I knew I had to join the club. The colors were even more beautiful in person so it was definitely coming home with me. The only problem was they did not have my size. Luckily, I tend to like my clothes a little baggy so I just go the next size up. The drop waist style of the dress allows for an easier movement between sizes and still provides a flattering fit. As a new Mommy who is still working on getting rid of that those last ten pound, a baggier fit makes me feel more confident and confidence is truly the best accessory that anyone can wear!

With fall finally here and a touch or crispness in the air, I decided to play up that vibe in my acessories. A floppy hat was my first choice and I love what it adds to the outfit. It is such a fun accessory and really makes me feel like I presenting a polished vibe. Not to mention, it is perfect for hiding tired Mom eyes and unwashed hair! Booties are my go-to shoes for the fall and this look was no exception.

While I did purchase my booties last fall, I found an identical pair that I will link for you below. They are the perfect color so I can wear them with literally everything. If you have been following me for a while you will definitely recognize them because I think I wear them at least once a week! They also have a chunky heel which makes them easy on my feet and comfortable to wear. This is very important to me because my 1 year old is constantly on the go! Sometimes I can’t believe how fast those little legs can scoot across the floor!

For the rest of my accessories I decided to go with the same browns to really play up the fall vibe. The choker trend is all the rage this season and I have to say that makes me so happy! I feel like I am back at my middle school lunch table hanging out with my friends. The leather of the choker really gives everything an earthy feel and looks really good laying against the floral of the dress. My clutch was purchased from Amazon and I chose this color because it literally matches everything. And would I be a true Southern girl if I didn’t have something with my monogram?! I just took the clutch to a local friend who had it monogrammed by the end of the week!

Needles to say, I am obsessed with everything in this look so expect to see it on major repeat this fall! And in the mean time, why not shop the look for yourself!

Quotes from the Past and Skirts of the Future

I have never been much of a pencil skirt girl. I always felt that they were too tight and accentuated me in all the wrong places. I would try them on in the store but none of them ever made it home with me because I just did not like the look of them on my body.

But all that changed when I tried on the Cassie Skirt by LuLaRoe.

The Cassie Skirt is LuLaRoe’s version of the pencil skirt. It has an elastic waistband and comes in many different colors, prints and textures. Because of the elastic, you can wear it higher with cropped tops and tied button-ups, or you can wear it lower for a different look. I was very skeptical when my LuLa Lady wanted me to try on this skirt. At first I refused, but she eventually persuaded me and I am so glad that she did. I loved it the minute I pulled it over my hips. It easily pulled over my “Mom Fluff” and even did a good job of masking some of the fluff! I was hooked.

(And on a side note, check out my LuLa Lady at LuLaRoe Nancy Pattillo on Facebook!)

For this look, I paired my Cassie Skirt with an oversized tee from H&M. I bought it oversized to wear with leggings but I realized that with the extra material I could also add a knot for some extra detail. I have actually been loving the knotted tee look lately and just bought this tee in two other colors just so I could knot them this Fall! It really is a fun way to update your outfit!

For my accessories I went with this stunning necklace from Purple Peridot. It is such a statement piece and really adds so much style to my outfits. I love the chunkiness of the chains and how it can easily be dressed up or down. My purse is a find from the Kate Spade Outlet. It was on super sale and I just cannot resist a fun purse design! My shoes are lace up flats from Old  Navy. I love this trend and I am so glad that it is carrying over into the Fall. I am hoping to snag a pair in a great cranberry color!

Now let’s get serious here for a minute… the mural on the wall features a quote from Prince and I think that it is so important, especially in today’s time. Now, more than ever, we need to be standing together, united as one, strong nation, a nation under God. All lives matter and we really need to be supporting and building one another up. Some days I am  really scared for my daughter and the world that she may have to potentially grow up in… but it can change. We all have to be willing to judge less and love more. To not point fingers or place blame and be accepting of all. We live in a great nation but it will only remain great if we stand together. The division between us will be our downfall. And, to be completely honest, what we really need is Jesus. He is the glue that holds us all together and it is not until we all stop and run to him that our nation will be healed.

My life matters. Your life matters. Black lives matter. All lives matter. Jesus is what matters.

Shopping Small and Staying Stylish

I love supporting small businesses whenever possible. It just feels good to know that your purchase is helping to put food on the table of a family just like yours instead of putting money back in the pockets of big box corporations. When that business has super cute and practical items, well that is just a double plus! That is why I was so excited to team up with two great small businesses: Sign Here Boutique and PurseCase.

First up to talk about, this AMAZING dress from Sign Here Boutique. Sign Here is a specialty store that sells the cutest clothes and accessories. They also specialize in personalized home decor and vinyl monograms and stickers. They have a great assortment of gift ideas as well. Make sure that you check them out on Instagram so you don’t miss out on any special promotions or coupon codes!

I love a good floral print. It is feminine, girly, and, with the right print, can even be slimming! The print on this Double Slit Maxi definitely delivers all that and more. I love the color palate because I feel that it is versatile for Spring, Summer, and Fall. With my climate, it would even be appropriate in the Winter paired with a long cardi. The dress also has slits on the side which allows me the option of knotting the dress in the front for a different look. I love the knotted look because it really shows off whatever shoes that you are wearing, and when your booties are this cute, you need to show them off!

My booties are from my local Famous Footwear and are Carlos by Carlos Santana. While these may be a season old, there is almost an identical pair currently on their website that is new for this Fall that I will link below. I cannot even express to you how much I love these booties. You have probably seen me wear them in previous blog posts because I wear them all the time. They are a great neutral color that goes with almost anything. They also have a great chunky heel which makes the comfy enough for chasing my 1 year old or keeping up with Kindergartners all day. My only piece of advice would be to spray them with an all-weather spray because they are a suede material. That way, you keep them looking new, year after year. (I will link my fave spray below!)

You probably noticed the adorable little crossbody that I am wearing in my pictures. “What could she possibly fit inside that tiny purse?” you are probably asking yourself. Well… it is not a purse! It is a phone case! That adorable little crossbody is by a company called PurseCase. They make silicone case for phones that are attached to a handle or crossbody chain. The days of searching through your purse are over because now your phone will be right at your fingertips. As a busy Mom, this is perfect for me because it frees up my hands for all of the other things that I am juggling. Also, since it is wrapped across my body, I don’t have to worry about it falling to the floor. If myself or Vivi happens to drop it, it will just fall gently to my side.

The PurseCase also features a small pocket in the front that is perfect for holding a debit card and your license. This makes the PurseCase ideal for sporting events, concerts and going out at night. Many concert halls and stadiums have become very strict on what they will allow a person to bring inside so this is perfect for when you don’t have pockets and are not allowed to bring a bag.

PurseCase is available to fit all versions of iPhone 5 and 6. It comes in a variety of colors and you can choose to order a package that contains the crossbody chain or just the handle. Order a few and change them up to match your outfits! I am sure that this is bound to become one of your new favorite accessories!

Aztec at a Glance

If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I am a little obsessed with LuLaRoe, specifically their leggings! I probably wear a pair at least three times a week and that is  different pairs each week! And sometimes it is more! For the stay-at-home Mom that may seem normal but I am currently teaching. That is a lot of leggings! My collection has grown from 1 pair to 20 pairs in just three short months.

But LuLaRoe is not just leggings. The company has a wide range of clothing options, including the adorable Azure skirt.

I recently hosted a LuLaRoe Pop-Up Party through my sweet friend Nancy Patillo and when I saw the print on this skirt, I knew that I needed it in my collection. My boho-lovin’ spirit was drawn to the warm tones and aztec pattern. I knew that it would be perfect for the Fall with booties, boots and even worn over solid leggings! But I couldn’t wait for the Fall to wear it! On a  day out with the family in Savannah, I knew that it would be perfect to keep me cool.

I pulled the rich, cranberry color out of the skirt by wearing this oversized tee. I bought this tee two sizes to big just so it would be oversized. I then knotted the tee on the side for a fun detail. My cardi is older from Forever 21 but I will link a similar style below. It is such a great neutral color so I am able to wear it with so many things in my closet. The knitting of the sweater allows a breeze so I can wear it in the Spring or Summer with little problem.

My bracelet is made by my sweet friend Tatiana. She has a shop on Etsy called Charmed Stacks and makes the cutest stacked bracelets. There are tons of colors and designs and I literally want to buy them all. It is a great way to get the stacked bracelet look without having to buy multiple bracelets.

The bracelet stack paired perfectly with a necklace that I already had in my collection. This necklace was a gift from my sweet Sister-In-Law but it is also from a shop on Etsy. The shop is called Daisy Doodles and it owned by a girl named Libby, with whom I went to highschool. She has tons of boho jewelry and accessories that go with so much of my wardrobe.

For my shoes, I went with my new favorite booties from Just Fab. They are a great color that will pair well with many of my looks for the Fall. The cutouts on the side add a fun detail and I love all the gold hardware. They are also a flat bootie so that makes chasing my little one year old a little more comfortable!

I encourage you all to check out my LuLa Lady at her Facebook group (Lularoe Nancy Patillo) or find a LuLa Lady close to you! The clothes are so comfortable and I know that you will love them as much as I do! And remember, it is never to early to start dressing for Fall!

Color Pops and Street Style

I love a good white top, especially if it has some great detail. It looks so fresh, clean and crisp and will literally pair with anything. Sometimes though, you just need a pop of color to bring some life to the white.

This adorable tank is from Francesca’s and I love the lace detail. It really adds some character to an otherwise basic top. Best part about it? I got it on sale for less than $10! Now is really the top to shop stores like these because they have deeply discounted their Spring and Summer styles to make room for all the Fall fashions. Little boutiques and smaller chains only have so much room for their product so they have to clean out their current inventory to stay current with the seasons. And how do they do that? Great sales! You can look through the sales racks to find pieces for next year or great basics, like my top, that can easily be used in the cooler months by adding a cardigan or blazer.

For my jeans, I went with the always stylish flare leg. I feel like this cut of jeans is very flattering. It really elongates the legs and has a slimming effect on the lower half of your body. I guess the flare helps to balance out my Mom hips, lol! But I earned those hips and would not trade my precious daughter for life without them! Besides, curves are sexy!

My accessories really brought it the pops of color to bring some life to the outfit. My necklace is from Belk and is by the by the brand Towne and Reese. It is a few years old but I will link something similar below! My clutch is made by a sweet friend from Instagram, Kayla (kayrae33). She sells them on her Etsy shop, The Professional Prep, and even though she is currently sold out, she updates her shop whenever possible. Make sure that you are following her on Instagram so you know when she updates the shop! And stay tuned, because I am hosting a fun giveaway later this month and will be giving one, and lots of other goodies, away to one lucky subscriber!

My shoes are a peep toe bootie style that snaps on in the back. They were a TJ Maxx find from two years ago and I still love them! Considering that I was able to score them for less than $15, I would say that I definitely have gotten my monies worth out of them! They are a great color that literally goes with everything and they are actually really comfortable. I am able to wear them an entire 8 hours teaching with little to no problems!

When the weather cools off a bit I will try to update this look and show you just how versatile your Summer pieces can be in the Fall! Let me know if that is something that you would be interested in reading by commenting below! I always love to hear from you!
